Located in the Greater Baton Rouge area, Puppie Luv is a no-kill shelter for our canine friends that are homeless and abandoned by their owner.
We are a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that has a deep longing to get these pets off the streets and into a loving environment...a home where they will be properly loved and cared for. They are so loyal to us, so let's be loyal to them in return. The name says it all...we love our canine friends.
Our goal is to place homeless and abandoned dogs in permanent homes via adoption or by placing them in foster homes until a permanent home can be found. Getting these pets sheltered and medically treated is the number one reason for starting such a great cause.
It is a proven fact that pets can assist in the overall well being of a person, which is why we are launching our Puppie Luv Treatment Program. Twice a month our volunteers will take our rescued dogs who have received all shots and vaccinations to local nursing homes, retirement communities, and centers for the disabled. This is in an effort to brighten their day and maybe even help with any recovery efforts.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Puppie Luv K-9 Shelter is to
facilitate the placement of stray and unwanted puppies and dogs in desirable
homes; to establish and maintain an animal shelter and associated procedures
which promote the health, care and handling, and prevent over population and cruelty
to animals. The animals in our care, our guests, are never euthanized merely
because we lack space or because the animal’s stay with us has exceeded a
predefined amount of time.
The Puppie Luv K-9 Shelter is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The operations of this shelter are solely dependent upon donations.
